The Rev. Dr. Frederick O Murph is Pastor/Teacher and Mrs. Rachel Murph is the First Lady and Executive Marketing Director of Brookins. Rev. Dr. and Mrs. Murph are wholly committed to Christ and on fire for the Lord. As Senior Minister, Rev. Dr. Murph delivers Christ-centered, Bible-based, messages every Sunday at 8:00 a.m. and 11 a.m., and his sermons are heard by thousands of people tuning in to Brookins' broadcast on Sundays at 7:30 a.m. on KJLH Radio, 102.3 FM.
We worship every Sunday 8:00 am and 11:00 am, and on Wednesdays at 7:00pm. Our multi-cultural congregation of over 5,000 reflects the rich ethnic diversity of Southern California: African-Americans, Hispanics, Filipinos and Caucasians. Our church seats 1200 and includes pipe organ, baby grand piano, and stained-glass windows displaying A.M.E. church founders, multi-ethnic angels, and a black Jesus Christ. The Community Development Center includes classrooms, offices, dining hall, industrial kitchen and 300-seat sanctuary.
All of our services incorporate prayer, music and sermons centered on Christ. On Sundays, the 8:00 am worship is traditional Methodist with a more spirited, Baptist style service at 11:00 am. Every third Sunday, young people conduct the services. Wednesday's services include praise, songs and testimonies. Our Contemporary Sermon, with life-applying messages, is focused on equipping believers to utilize the word of God to activate the power of God in daily living through Jesus Christ.
